President Muhammadu Buhari will today, Monday, October 31, meet with security chiefs in the nation’s capital, Abuja, to further review and strengthen security network in the country amidst terror alerts and evacuation of Abuja by firms

Buhari, who was originally planned to inaugurate the new Technology and Innovation Complex of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, NASENI, will receive briefings from the security chiefs, and interject on areas that need more attention.

However, a statement issued by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity on Sunday said that the inauguration of the NASENI complex will hold on a later date.

Further, NASENI as published in their website, is an agency established in 1992 by the Federal Government after the recommendations of the White Paper Committee on the 1991 Report of a 150 member National Committee on Engineering Infrastructure comprising Scientists, Engineers, Administrators, Federal and State Civil Servants, Economists, Lawyers, Bankers and Industrialists. It said the mandate of NASENI is specifically in the area of capital goods, research, production and reverse engineering. NASENI, by its mandate and scope of operation is the Nigerian only purpose built Agency designed to conduct developmental work in the areas of manufacturing.
